About WELCOME TO TYLER, TEXAS, THE ROSE CAPITAL OF AMERICA From our charming brick streets to our antique shops and specialty stores, Tyler offers a variety of things to see and do. The city is alive with natural beauty including wonderful lakes, adventurous trails, and scenic campgrounds.
Tyler State Park features a cool, 64-acre spring-fed lake, 13 miles of hiking and biking trails, 100-foot-tall trees, and historic structures. Play at the lake, wet a hook, wander through the woods, or relax with your binoculars.
The Visitor Center is located in the Plaza Tower in the heart of Downtown Tyler. The space includes an information center, retail shop featuring branded Tyler items and Made-in-Tyler products, podcast studio, and artwork from local artists. Street parking is available; metered parking is free on the weekend and after 5pm on weekdays. The Visitor Center is open Monday-Friday, 10am-5pm.
TJC is one of the largest community colleges in Texas, with 306 full-time faculty members and 248 part-time faculty members, and 12,000+ students enrolled.
