Hey, I'm the guy behind Silicdyne, a company dedicated to providing the best in advanced rocketry electronics at low cost. You may have heard of my first product, the Fluctus flight computer. It's a project that's still ongoing development and on the market, but in parallel I'm also developing...

I would like to hear some different rocketeers methods of folding chutes. I always use the Carlisle method, which Is pictured in the handbook of model rocketry, but I would like to see other's methods. Maybe some specific "best for" methods. (Best for opening quickly, slowly, best for...
Hi everyone, I’m excited to share a project I’ve been working on called ArX (by Irenova). We are building a generative AI software suite designed specifically for rocket engineering, and we are looking for community feedback on our first public release. What is ArX? ArX is designed to be a...
As of the start of 2025, what is the best (or near best) onboard video camera to house with a 2. 1" / 54mm rocket that is - 1. Not necessarily the cheapest 2. Gets good - but not superb resolution 3. MUST be easy to install 4. Wifi blue tooth connectivity / connection to iphone highly...

The Eggtimer EZ-DD rocket is a 3" diameter 40" long cardboard/wood rocket, based on the venerable Balsa Machining 3" School Rocket, but with a 12" parachute payload bay and a custom dual-deploy AV bay. It has a 29mm motor mount, and flies great on G and H motors, and will also handle some I's too. It weighs about 24 oz without the motor.
I'm looking for a rocket to build for my L2 cert. Any favorites or recommendations would be appreciated.
So I took the 'stock' two-stage rocket in OpenRocket and tried a few different delays on the booster motor. See below, ignition at ejection charge to show delayed staging The motors above the H100/I357 are in the stock example sim, I'm ignoring those for now These are set to automatic, ignition at ejection charge Now switched to first burnout This is the stock 2-stage example rocket

I'm a newbie to OpenRocket and I don't do rocketry irl (I just love making these rockets that go high in OR) So, is there any visual tutorial on how to do multi-staging in OpenRocket? I don't understand the wiki (It doesn't seem to work)...
I read a post earlier and it made me wonder what the fastest documented speed is during an amateur rocket flight? I checked the TRA records page and the only records I found are altitude related. My definition of documented is actual speed measured from an onboard device and recovered after a...
This market resolves YES if the Artemis II mission (crewed Moon flyby) officially lifts off from Kennedy Space Center before , 00:00 UTC. Context: NASA is currently targeting , after rolling the rocket back to the VAB in February to fix helium flow issues. Resolution: Based on the official NASA launch clock. If the launch is scrubbed and moved to May or later, this ...
Resolves NO: If NASA confirms the completion of the Trans-Lunar Injection (TLI) maneuver and the Orion spacecraft enters its lunar coast trajectory. Resolves N/A: If the SLS rocket fails to reach its initial intended orbit (Launch Failure/LEO insertion failure). Resolves upon completion or failure of HEO with date pushed back in case of launch ...
As of March 19 2024, Rocket Lab is publicly targeting a launch in 2024. As of May 2024, Rocket Lab is now targeting 2025. Answers will resolve as YES if Neutron lifts off and clears the pad before the respective dates given. A successful remainder of the flight is not necessary. The flight does not need to be on an orbital trajectory.
Will NASA's big rocket, the Space Launch System, be either officially or unofficially cancelled before ? Here cancelling means that there will no longer be an active and funded plan to launch it again. It is currently scheduled to be flown for Artemis 2 in September, 2025. Delaying that launch to a defined date in the future would not be interpreted as a cancellation, but delaying ...
If you want to ask the general question about any rocket owned by Blue Origin, that's a different market. If you do make a market about that, be sure to clarify that ownership is what counts rather than branding, so that it's clear Vulcan would count even if an acquisition doesn't change the names of anything.
2% chance. "To Mars" just means that the target of the mission is, in some meaningful sense, the planet Mars. It doesn't have to be a landing; an orbit around the planet or a close flyby also qualify. However simply going out past Mars's orbital distance from the sun, while not actually approaching the planet itself, does not count. "Send" means that a rocket lifted off the launchpad for that ...
This question asks whether SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket will successfully launch the Starlink 10-11 mission, deploying its payload of Starlink satellites into orbit, by 11:59 PM UTC on . A “successful launch” is defined as the Falcon 9 rocket lifting off from its launch site and deploying the Starlink satellites into their intended orbit without catastrophic failure (e.g ...
