I am getting a betta, couple red wag platies and and a couple albino corydoras. Are they good quality from petsmart or petco?

First, PetSmart and other chains stores are there to sell and make money. They are not the ones to listen too. They are both males, should never be housed together or as a pair. They likely are adults, at least 5 years or probably more The enclosures they sell is too small for adult Russians. They need a minimum of a 4x8 foot enclosure. Do not use any mercury, halogen or coiled cfl bulbs they ...

Petco seems to have better fish choices, while Petsmart sticks with the bread and butter species. Petsmart also pushes their cheap branded aquariums over selling other manufacturers' aquariums. In short, I like Petco better.

Is this 125 gallon with stand and lights at petsmart a good deal? $494.94 If not where do you recommend getting a good stand and tank for a good price.

Is buying fish from Petsmart a good idea or not, I don't really have a LFS within an hour of me so I would like to know if the fish are fine, especially with the policy.

I've heard lots of bad fish stories concerning PetCo and PetSmart. What is the average condition of the fish that you've gotten from PetCo or PetSmart?

Hello all. I am currently planting a 5gallon betta tank, and came across petsmarts tube plants. I only do tissue culture plants because I don't want pests. I didn't realize they sold them, and after looking at reviews the consensus is mixed. Some even say they got snails from the tissue culture...

PetSmart customer service just seems friendlier and the staff more laid back. And part of me wants to desperately prove that cleaned, well-maintained tanks\cages = increased sales and customer satisfaction.

Moderator note: I split these posts off of the original thread because they are off topic. The original poster just wanted to know about the unusual coloring on the steppe tortoise they saw in Petsmart. However, it is a good, informative thread and worthy of continuing Petsmart doesn't...

In my opinion you're asking the wrong question. Instead of asking "Should I get a dwarf gourami from Petsmart?" you should be asking "Should I get a dwarf gourami?" They're plagued with health issues, and are often aggressive to tank mates when they mature. However, if you still want one then as the others indicated above they all come from the same sources so it boils down to the individual ...

The PetSmart near me doesn't have healthy looking tank conditions; however, the Petco near me seems to have pristine conditions (for a chain retailer). I think it depends on the individual locations.

My petsmart is the place that didn't pay attention to community alerts and killed off their fish department with the city doing flush outs of the pipes and sanitization, then it was 2 months before they got new fish from their supply chain.

Do PetSmart fish really die as easily as they say? So far I've never had any fish from PetSmart that were in THAT BAD of conditions, never a fish that died fast in good conditions.

Today means "the current day", so if you're asking what day of the week it is, it can only be in present tense, since it's still that day for the whole 24 hours. In other contexts, it's okay to say, for example, "Today has been a nice day" nearer the end of the day, when the events that made it a nice day are finished (or at least, nearly so).

3 “Earlier today” is a totally correct way to refer to a point in time between the beginning of the day and the current time. Because it refers to a moment in the past, it can be used with the past tense, as you did in your example.

Two other options (in addition to "as from today," "from today," and "effective today") are "beginning today" and "as of today." These may be more U.S.-idiomatic forms than British-idiomatic forms (the two "from" options have a British English sound to me, although "effective today" does not); but all five options are grammatically faultless, I believe.
