Attempting to switch from an existing I130 to DCF could be very risky. As you mentioned, you would have to cancel the exiting I130 first, then hope the Consulate accepts a DCF filing. They may with your job repatriation requirements, but they will be able to see your I130 was recently canceled and may view it as an end-around attempt.
