The Sentinel DB is updated from the RR DB weekly. As dave3825 mentioned, a lot of these issues are caused by having an out-of-date sentinel database. If you are still having issues after updating the sentinel db, give us an example of what seems to be missing, and we should be able to help you find it.

I programmed in a new system in Sentinel today. Hooked up my cable to the scanner and pressed . when prompted. The scanner went right back to scan mode and Sentinel can't 'see' my scanner. Can anyone help me out?

Also, if Sentinel allows you to export a conventional system, then you could do that to create a template spreadsheet. Again, I haven't used Sentinel in a couple of years so I cannot remember if it allows import/export from a spreadsheet or CSV file. If it works with CSV files, then try to export a conventional system to CSV to create a template.
