Moderators can help hold and manage comments users leave on videos or the messages participants send during your stream’s live chat. When creators add a moderator, they can choose whether they’re a standard moderator or a managing moderator.
Note: You can add Moderators to help you manage your Community. Moderators on your channel can hold specific posts for your review or hide users.
Assign moderators A moderator is someone who you trust to help build a positive, safe channel experience for your community. A moderator helps review and manage comments users leave on a video or the messages participants send during a stream’s live chat.
Moderate comments You can invite moderators to help manage comments on your videos and channel. Anyone with a YouTube channel can be a moderator.
Content moderators get an email spam report that includes spam messages from the moderation queue. The report is sent weekly on Tuesday and Friday in the Pacific time zone, which might be Wednesday and Saturday in other time zones.
Not all live streams will have an AI-generated chat summary. Live stream creators and moderators on mobile can disable this feature per stream in the chat moderation settings. Learn how to moderate your live chat. Toggle “live chat summary” to enable or disable live chat summaries.
Channel Moderation – Individual channel owners and moderators can delete comments or have keyword filters that automatically hide certain types of content. User Reporting – Other users may have reported the comment, leading YouTube to review and potentially remove it.
Moderators on mobile can also disable AI-generated summaries per stream in the chat moderation setting. There are two types of moderators: a standard moderator and a managing moderator. Managing moderators have more options available to them than standard moderators. Both types of moderators can hold comments for your review. Moderators don’t have access to your channel in YouTube Studio. The comment will be held for your review in your “Held” queue. Other viewers won’t see the comment unless you approve it.
For meeting moderators: As a meeting moderator, you can create polls for participants to vote on. After the meeting, the moderator is automatically emailed a report of the poll results. The report contains names and answers of the participants. Participant names aren't shared in the case of anonymous polls.
