Fishery History The fish population in Lake Decatur is intensively surveyed every 2 years. The fish are measured, weighed, and scales collected before releasing them alive. Hybrid Striped Bass and Walleye populations are surveyed annually and are maintained by annual stockings through IDNR hatcheries.

Kinkaid Lake receives a tremendous amount of recreational boat traffic during the hot summer months especially on the weekends and holidays.
