Garside Junior High School Frank F. Garside was born on , in Atchison, Kansas. He came to Nevada in 1904 on the first train into the state. Mr. Garside traveled to Tonopah on a flat car, to reach the mining camp, arriving on , with only $5.25 in cash. He spent two years in Tonopah before moving to Manhattan. There he owned 12 newspapers in the state.
