I'm going to get a hearing test and get checked by an ear specialist (again) as soon as possible, but I was wondering; Are you allowed to become a police officer if you suffer from tinnitus? I've also heard that it is possible to reduce the effect of tinnitus, however it requires a lot of work.
I am not a police officer, but I thought I would share the policy on that with the Pennsylvania State Police. You can not have had a DUI charge within one year of filing an application and 2 charges within the past 10 years of filing an application.
I am hoping to become a police officer after I get my Degree in criminal Justice with my focus on policing. Anyways, they ask for any volunteer experience on the application. What can you suggest that looks good? Should I just volunteer for whatever comes up or are there things that look better than others? Thanks for your help.
