The Cummins N14 is a 14 liter, inline 6 cylinder diesel widely used in class 8 on-highway applications from 1987 through 2001. While early engines used a simple PT injection system, the later N14 featured Cummins Celect and Celect Plus electronically controlled fuel systems.
The N14 engine is the follow up to the vastly popular Cummins 855 Big Cam which was produced 1976-1985. Cummins listened to it customers and designed a more powerful version of the 855 while maintaining a similar profile and bore/stroke architecture.
