The New York County Clerk seeks to provide services in a fair, equitable and expedient manner. The County Clerk is the keeper of records and as such is charged with recording, filing, and preserving a variety of documents/records which also involves issuing and certifying same.
Birth & Death Certificates are not maintained by the County Clerk's Office, but rather the municipality in which the event took place: the towns, two cities and the incorporated villages. For example, if the event occurred in Glen Cove, you would contact the Clerk's office in the City of Glen Cove.

For online court records, the information includes the offender’s name, DOB, charges, timeline of court appearances, attorneys, and upcoming court hearings. Birth, Death, and Marriage records can be requested from the Register of Deeds.
The Criminal Division handles Criminal Traffic, Misdemeanor, County Ordinance, Municipal Ordinance and Felony cases. A mandatory court appearance is required for any of these offenses. This mandatory court appearance date is located on either the citation, notice to appear or arrest paperwork you are given by Law Enforcement.
