Going to change the service battery in my 15 V40cc D2. Anything I need to be ware of or look out for ??

Hello everyone, I just bought my first car, a 2014 Volvo V40 T3, and a warning appears on the dashboard that says 'low battery charge.' The car is recently...

Since that battery also supplies power to the ECU memory when the car is switched off, as well as powering the stop/start system , don't ignore it. Like the main battery, Volvo recommend that it be a "Absorbent Glass Matt" ( AGM) battery type. I used a Yuasa YTX-12-BS battery to replace the 'Volvo" branded Exide BTX-14 BS battery that was in there.

The low battery charge message relates to the main battery. On vehicles with stop/start systems and intelligent alternators, the vehicle battery is designed to operate at around 80% SOC, to provide capacity to store regenerative alternator charging between stop/start events.

Batteries – Each individual battery, or container of batteries, should be labeled with one of the following phrases: “Universal Waste – Batteries,” “Waste Batteries” or “Used Batteries.” Note that a pallet is not considered to be a container, and if lead-acid batteries are stored on a pallet, each individual battery must be labeled.

I had a new battery installed in November (from Halfords) and decided to bring to Halfords garage and they confirm the battery and alternator were OK. When Volvo re-opened, I booked the car in for a check and they confirm the battery/ alternator was OK, but there was a parasitic drain.

The main battery is the one to look at. The secondary battery is only connected to the car by a relay for a fraction of a second during an engine restart from a stop/start event, when it momentarily takes the load of running consumers, to free the main battery capacity entirely to service the operation of the starter motor.

Hiya, I have an early 2014 D2 cross country automatic. It keeps complaining about battery level, even after our (rare but very long drives). So I think the battery is shot. Funnily, when I put my numberplate in a bunch of websites, they recommend a smaller, lower-capacity battery (760) than...

What’s the challenge? We recycle just 20% of the more than 53 million metric tonnes of e-waste generated globally each year, according to the Global E-waste Monitor. This is a challenge and a missed opportunity. Experts estimate that materials in global e-waste are worth $62 billion per year. That value currently sits untapped in landfills.
