I’ve got the piston itch again, been eyeing a LWRC IC MKii, specifically the 16in rifle, but there’s not a lot of feedback about it. I’m sure it’ll be a solid rifle, but nevertheless I’m curious about
To me, the LWRC brings the most value to the table and leaves you room to upgrade the trigger if you really feel you need lighter than a 4-5lb single stage. Each of the 3 options have proven themselves in the durability/longevity metrics over the years in high-volume courses. That Tungsten LWRC is the easy winner in this, and I think the normal price ones are as well, even though I like some ...
DD M4A1 RIII vs LWRC DI vs Geissele Super Duty - Sniper's Hide
Re: lwrc worth the money ? Killzone45, I appreciate the fact that you pointed out that you have modified the REPR from it's factory configuration before stating that it was malfunctioning. I look forward to hearing your results once you have the factory buffer and spring in it - hopefully you'll have that early next week. Keep us informed.
Those MkIIs look well thought out. The gas block access/rail interface definitely looks similar to the HK A4. Also looks like taking the rail off is a one bolt-one tool design too. I have a REPR and an ICA5 and taking the handguards off on those older LWRC designs is a bit tedious. It only took them how many years to finally release an m-lok design for their piston guns, but now that they’re ...

Guys I recently brought home a 2004 545i (SMG) which I had hidden from the Wife for a year. The car sat for 3 plus years prior to me getting it. The PO said it would throw a transmission fault and shut down. Also, the key would stop working sometimes while driving and the car would shut down...
2004 BMW 545i No Crank No Start (SMG guys this may be in...
SMG will automatically take the car out of gear and release the clutch if the car doesn't move for a period of time. It then quickly puts the car back in gear and opens the clutch when your foot touches the throttle.
To SMG or not SMG SMG is not for the die hard manual guy. (He thinks he can shift faster than machine) SMG is not for the smooth feel automatic guy. (He wants easy tranny shifts that do not ruffle his butt-ocks) ..... SMG is for the guy who wants to plow through the gears, fast and not get into a wussy fit because the car jerks every-now-and-again!
A true SMG is built by Getrag (of Germany), and employs SIX modes of operation. To reiterate my earlier statement, BMW employed extremely deceptive marketing practices (many would call it outright FRAUD) by marketing both transmissions under the same name, yet making no distinctions between them. So, now you know what`s what....
Hey all. We just purchased a 2004 330 Ci SMG and I was wondering how I can find out how many were produced in 2004 with SMG, with our specific color, etc. Is there a website I where I can find out this information? Thanks!
Thinking about picking up a m3 in the coming months and would like to get some feedback from you guys. I would really want 6mt, but if a smg comes up cheaper than that might be the route. So can you guys give me some pros and cons on smg? Is it any better than 6mt for the manual feeling...
SMG stands for sequential manual gearbox. If you move the shifter over you can manually shift gears by pushing or pulling the shifter. When the shifter is in drive, it is an automatic. Here are some pics.
-- SMG is yet more high-tech stuff that can break - the car's got plenty already. -- The most important reason: 3 pedals are more fun. I recently did the M Driving Experience thing at Spartanburg, and had a chance to give the SMGs a second chance, and on the track to boot. Didn't change my mind - still like the manual better.
Looking for some advice with some possible transmission problems on a Bimmer Snip 1) I need a whole new transmission, which will be thousands even for a used one. 2) I need a new SMG pump, which is still thousands and I'm afraid to buy a new transmission and that not fix it cuz its the SMG pump. 3) Or maybe I'm lucky and its a >$20 fix by getting a new salmon relay, which I'm hoping for. Any ...
It is easy to learn : SMG I plan to sell my 03 530i and get a M3 with SMG, but don't know how the SMG works. Is it the same like automatic or mixed with Auto Shift and Manual. Does it have a video to show you how to drive the SMG transmission. Please advice P.
